Sun On Tap turns official data into a straight answer: is solar worth it on a roof in your town, and what should you do about it today?
Every town page is built from the same three public sources, fetched per town and dated on the page: install counts and growth from DESNZ regional renewable statistics; solar yield from the EU’s PVGIS satellite model for that exact location; and prices from Ofgem’s current cap. Where a council scheme or local project matters, it’s linked to the primary source.
This site is run from a Swansea bungalow with a 6.9 kW SolaX array, battery storage, an Eddi hot-water diverter and an Octopus Agile tariff — installed, broken, fixed and lived with. When we say batteries move you up the savings range, it’s because ours do.
Installer quotes aren’t open yet. The quick check on each town page is an anonymous counter — it stores no names, emails or full postcodes — and it decides where we open quotes first. Until then, the two things we recommend (switching to Octopus, and one tested plug-in kit) pay us a commission if you use our links, which is how the site is funded. No installer has paid us anything.
